Understanding how people think about their feet.
Save Feet India uses pilot surveys and community feedback to identify knowledge gaps and design more useful public education.
Foot Health Matters Survey — pilot findings
The first Save Feet survey collected 271 responses. It was a convenience sample, mostly urban/metro and male-skewed, so the results should not be treated as nationally representative.
78.6%reported foot/ankle pain or discomfort at least rarely in the previous 12 months
26.9%reported heel pain
56.1%reported someone with diabetes in their household
25.5%said they knew “a lot” about foot safety
What we learned
People already believe foot safety matters, but many do not feel deeply informed about how to protect their feet. That gap supports a prevention-first educational approach.
Awareness → Correct Fit → Appropriate Footwear → Foot Protection → Early Recognition → Timely Help.
